Convenient Access from Wellesley
SOAP Dental is a dentist Wellesley, MA residents can reach in about 6 minutes by heading west on Route 135 into Natick Center. Dr. Bob Cheng runs a general practice at 7A Middlesex Ave, close enough for a checkup between classes, meetings or train rides. Students, faculty, commuters and families all use the same simple trip.
From Wellesley Town Hall in Hunnewell Park, leave by Wakelin Way and Railroad Avenue to reach Central Street (Route 135). Drive west through Wellesley Square, where Central Street turns into East Central Street at the Natick line. In Natick Center, turn right on Main Street (Route 27), then left onto Middlesex Avenue.
It is a 3.3-mile drive with no highway and no tolls. The town's main rail station slips by early on, and Natick Town Hall and the Morse Institute Library appear just before the final two turns. Save the trip from our Google Maps listing, or see our pages for Wellesley Hills and South Natick if one of those villages is closer to home.
How Natick Center Fits a Busy Week in Town
Campus life shapes much of the town. Wellesley College, Babson College and MassBay Community College all keep their main campuses here, so many residents live on an academic calendar. Our office sits one commuter rail stop west of the town's main square, which keeps a dental visit from turning into a trip back to Boston or a wait until winter break.
Rail service has run from town to Boston since 1833, and today the town has three stations of its own. Riders on the Framingham/Worcester Line can step off at Natick Center station, about a tenth of a mile from our door. Drivers have Route 9 and Route 16 as well, though Route 135 is the most direct way to us.
The office opens at 8 AM and closes at 5 PM, Monday through Friday. A limited Saturday schedule, 8 AM to 1 PM, is available by appointment only. Most people can find a window that works around a lecture, a lab or a shift.
Errands fit around the visit, too. Natick's Morse Institute Library and Town Hall stand a short walk from our office, and Natick Common offers a few quiet minutes on a bench before you drive home.
The town itself sits in Norfolk County, with Newton to the east and Needham to the south. Crossing into Middlesex County at the Natick border makes no difference to your care. Your records, x-rays and treatment plan stay in one place no matter which side of the line you call home.
Dental Questions That Come Up for Wellesley Patients
College years bring irregular sleep, late-night snacks and exam stress, and teeth feel all three. Clenching during finals can leave a sore jaw or chipped edges, while sweet coffee drinks raise cavity risk. A cleaning and exam over each break gives Dr. Cheng the chance to catch those changes early.
Wisdom teeth are another frequent topic. Students often arrive with questions about crowding, soreness or whether an old x-ray from home still counts. Our digital x-rays produce immediate images with reduced radiation, so we can talk through the findings while you are still in the chair.
Patients who like to see the evidence appreciate our intraoral camera. It shows real-time photos of each tooth on a screen, so a hairline crack or a worn filling is visible to you, not just described. When a crown or aligner plan comes next, those images help you weigh the choice at your own pace.
Gum health deserves attention at every age. Bleeding while flossing, receding gums or stubborn bad breath can point to early gum disease, and Dr. Cheng checks for it at each exam. Scaling and root planing is available when a deeper cleaning is needed.
Professionals heading into the city have different goals, often a straighter or brighter smile before an interview or a big presentation. Invisalign clear aligners, bonding and porcelain veneers are all part of our cosmetic work. Dr. Cheng uses the iTero scanner to build a digital 3D model, so you skip traditional impression trays.
Families on the residential side of town bring children from elementary schools such as Hunnewell, Fiske and Sprague. Dr. Cheng sees kids from infancy through the teen years, so siblings and parents can share one dental home. That makes it simple to stack the family's checkups on a single school vacation morning.
Every April, Wellesley College students cheer Boston Marathon runners just before the halfway mark, and the town takes its sports seriously all year. Players in contact sports, from high school teams to adult leagues, benefit from a custom mouthguard. A guard made from your own bite stays put and protects front teeth better than a boil-and-bite version.
Services from a Dentist Wellesley, MA Patients Can Reach Easily
Emergency Treatment
A cracked tooth before a final or a knock during an intramural game needs prompt attention. We hold time for urgent visits whenever possible and treat severe tooth pain, gum emergencies and dental injuries.
Invisalign®
Clear aligners straighten teeth without brackets, which suits anyone who presents, teaches or interviews often. Dr. Cheng offers Invisalign for teens and adults and begins with a quick iTero digital scan.
General Dentistry
Checkups, cleanings, oral cancer screenings and custom nightguards keep things steady from semester to semester. For commuters, a morning cleaning can wrap up before a later train east.
Root Canal Therapy
When infection reaches the inside of a tooth, gentle root canal treatment removes it and saves the natural tooth. A crown often follows to protect what remains, and Dr. Cheng explains both steps before starting.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Bonding repairs small chips and gaps, and a smile makeover can combine several treatments into one plan. Whitening is also available, so a refresh before graduation photos or a wedding is easy to arrange.

LOOK NO FURTHER & book an appointment! I have neglected my teeth for too long but feel absolutely refreshed and hopeful after my visit to Soap Dental. Super clean, easy to find, lots of parking, and extremely relaxed environment. There was never a moment I didnโt feel at ease as to what was going on and was checked in with multiple times to make sure I was comfortable. We spent some time talking about my goals and how we can get there, hallelujah! Iโm actually looking forward to going back next week to get some fillings & sealant applied ๐คฏ. This is such a great establishment, and if youโre like me and need an all-in-one dental facility I cannot recommend this one enough. Your mouth is in great hands. ๐ฉตPosted on Google![]()

Very lovely place. I got my teeth whitened here and from the moment I walked in for my appointment, I was greeted and taken care off. Front desk staff / assistant was super attentive. The office is lovely, once I walked into my room they greeted me with a large TV and my name on it and made me feel comfortable during my teeth whitening session. The doctor is very kind and makes sure you're comfortable during your visit. Frequent check ups during the appointment from the staff / doctor. Would recommend anyone to come here for all your teeth needs!!Posted on Google![]()

If your in need of a dentist, look no further. I have not been to a dentist since the dark ages and was fairly anxious. Dr Cheng was kind and patient and listened to my sad story with compassion and helpful suggestions regarding my treatment. Minus the guilt trip. He will work with you throughout the process and you might just feel a little better. Mouthwize anyway. Try not to watch Marathon Man before you go.Posted on Google![]()

Frequently Asked Questions
How far is SOAP Dental from Wellesley, and how do I get there?
Our office is 3.3 miles from Wellesley Town Hall, about a 6-minute drive. Follow Route 135 west through Wellesley Square into Natick Center, then take Main Street (Route 27) and Middlesex Avenue. Anyone weighing a dentist Wellesley, MA residents can reach without a highway will find this an easy run.
Can Wellesley patients get a root canal at the Natick office?
Yes, Dr. Cheng provides root canal therapy to remove infection and save the natural tooth. He starts with an exam and digital X-rays to confirm the tooth needs it, then explains the steps before treatment. A crown often follows, because a treated tooth can become brittle and needs protection for everyday chewing.
Which commuter rail stop is closest to the office for riders from town?
Natick Center station is the closest, about a tenth of a mile from our door. It is the next stop west of Wellesley Square on the Framingham/Worcester Line. Riders can hop on in town, get off one station later and walk over in a few minutes, then catch a train back after the visit.
Should Wellesley patients replace a worn or cracked filling right away?
Yes, it is wise not to wait. A cracked or worn filling lets food and bacteria slip underneath, which can lead to new decay inside the tooth. Dr. Cheng checks the filling with the intraoral camera and X-rays, then explains whether a new tooth-colored filling, an inlay or onlay, or a crown fits the damage.
Can parents and kids from the same household see one dentist?
Yes, Dr. Cheng treats patients of all ages. Children from infancy through the teen years receive cleanings, exams, sealants and fillings when needed, while parents can handle their own checkups, crowns or aligner care. Booking family members on the same morning keeps the drive down Route 135 to a single trip.
