Convenient Access from Sudbury
Plenty of Sudbury parents juggle four school calendars before they ever think about a cleaning. SOAP Dental, a general practice in Natick Center, keeps that part simple: the drive takes about 16 minutes, and Dr. Bob Cheng sees children, teens and adults alike. For a dentist Sudbury, MA households can share across generations, one office and one set of records goes a long way.
Leave the Goodnow Library on Concord Road and turn east onto Boston Post Road (Route 20). Turn south on Landham Road into Framingham, then follow Elm Street and Concord Street through Saxonville to School Street (Route 126), Hamilton Street and Old Connecticut Path. Speen Street carries you south past the Natick Mall to Route 9; head east on Route 9, turn south on North Main Street (Route 27) and finish on Middlesex Ave at 7A Middlesex Ave, Natick, MA 01760. It works out to about 8.2 miles with no tolls; tap SOAP Dental on Google Maps to load the directions, and see our pages for Wayland and Nobscot if you live closer to either.
A Family Practice Worth the Short Drive South
Sudbury grew up around single-family Colonials and Capes on generous lots, and one-acre zoning kept much of its rural feel. Families tend to stay for years, which is exactly the kind of relationship a family dental office is built for. A child who first visits as a toddler can keep seeing the same dentist through high school graduation.
Like Natick, Sudbury belongs to Middlesex County, and the two towns share more than a county line. Route 20 serves as the commercial spine on the Sudbury side, much as Route 9 does near our office, so errands and appointments follow familiar patterns. The drive between them stays on local roads through north Framingham rather than the Mass Pike.
Our hours fit around the school day. Weekday appointments run from 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday, and Saturday mornings from 8:00AM to 1:00PM are reserved for booked visits only. Afternoon slots work well for younger students, while Saturday helps when a teen's schedule is packed with practices and clubs.
Natick Center is an easy place to land. The office sits a short walk from Natick Common and the Natick Center commuter rail station, and the Natick Mall sits right on the way home via Speen Street. Pairing a checkup with a back-to-school shopping trip turns two outings into one.
School Years, Sports Seasons and Sudbury Smiles
The local school path is a familiar one: Haynes, Loring, Nixon and Noyes elementary schools, then Curtis Middle School, then Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, which serves both Lincoln and Sudbury. Each stage brings its own dental milestones. Baby teeth give way to adult molars in the elementary years, bite and spacing questions often surface in middle school, and high schoolers start thinking about how their smile looks in photos.
Regular cleanings and exams carry a child through all of it. Six-month visits let Dr. Cheng track new teeth as they erupt, seal deep grooves on the back molars and spot crowding before it becomes harder to correct. Adults benefit from the same rhythm, since early decay and gum changes rarely hurt at first.
Parents feel the pressure of a busy town, too. Long workdays and late nights can lead to clenching or grinding, which wears enamel and strains the jaw. A custom nightguard protects teeth during sleep and is one of the simplest fixes we offer for morning jaw soreness.
Team sports pick up quickly in the middle and high school years. A custom sports mouthguard, made to fit the athlete's own teeth, stays in place better during contact than a generic one from a store shelf. Dr. Cheng can make one for players of any age, so a younger sibling starting a new season can be fitted at the same visit as an older one.
Weekends here often mean time outdoors, whether that is the trails and boat launch at Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge along the Sudbury River, the Assabet River refuge, or a walk past Longfellow's Wayside Inn, which dates to 1716. Active families collect the occasional chipped tooth, and bonding or a crown can often restore it.
What Our Office Offers as a Dentist Sudbury, MA Families Can Reach
Cosmetic Dentistry
Bonding, veneers and smile makeovers refresh teeth that are chipped, stained or uneven, and whitening treatments are part of the cosmetic menu as well. Parents who spent years focused on their kids' teeth often decide it is finally their turn.
Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Cheng cares for children from infancy through the teen years, with cleanings, exams, sealants, fillings and crowns sized for growing mouths. Siblings at different schools can be seen on the same afternoon.
Invisalign®
Clear aligners straighten teeth without brackets or wires, which appeals to high schoolers and adults alike. Each case begins with a digital scan, and the aligners come out for meals, sports and photos.
TMJ Treatment
Jaw pain, frequent headaches and discomfort while chewing can all point to a TMJ disorder. Dr. Cheng diagnoses the cause and plans treatment, and Cone Beam 3D imaging helps him monitor TMD over time.
Aligner and restorative planning rely on our iTero® scanner, which captures a detailed 3D digital model of your teeth in place of goopy impression trays. For kids who dread the old putty, the scan is a welcome change, and the same file supports planning for crowns and implants.

LOOK NO FURTHER & book an appointment! I have neglected my teeth for too long but feel absolutely refreshed and hopeful after my visit to Soap Dental. Super clean, easy to find, lots of parking, and extremely relaxed environment. There was never a moment I didn’t feel at ease as to what was going on and was checked in with multiple times to make sure I was comfortable. We spent some time talking about my goals and how we can get there, hallelujah! I’m actually looking forward to going back next week to get some fillings & sealant applied 🤯. This is such a great establishment, and if you’re like me and need an all-in-one dental facility I cannot recommend this one enough. Your mouth is in great hands. 🩵Posted on Google![]()

Very lovely place. I got my teeth whitened here and from the moment I walked in for my appointment, I was greeted and taken care off. Front desk staff / assistant was super attentive. The office is lovely, once I walked into my room they greeted me with a large TV and my name on it and made me feel comfortable during my teeth whitening session. The doctor is very kind and makes sure you're comfortable during your visit. Frequent check ups during the appointment from the staff / doctor. Would recommend anyone to come here for all your teeth needs!!Posted on Google![]()

If your in need of a dentist, look no further. I have not been to a dentist since the dark ages and was fairly anxious. Dr Cheng was kind and patient and listened to my sad story with compassion and helpful suggestions regarding my treatment. Minus the guilt trip. He will work with you throughout the process and you might just feel a little better. Mouthwize anyway. Try not to watch Marathon Man before you go.Posted on Google![]()

I have had wonderful dental care at SOAP with Dr. Cheng. Dr Cheng is a gentle and excellent dentist explaining every detail of my dental plan. The office is lovely and the practice uses the most current dental equipment for deep and thorough care. I am so impressed by the intraoral camera exam, digital x rays, and sophisticated lab testing called OralDNA Labs to help guide treatment.Posted on Google![]()

I’ve been to Soap Dental a couple times recently and it’s been great. Dr Cheng is an awesome dentist and great person, you can definitely tell he cares about you and your well being. The facility itself is also highly accessible, which is an amazing bonus for those of us who are disabled or have loved ones that are. I highly recommend coming here.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far is SOAP Dental from Sudbury, and how do I get there?
The drive covers about 8.2 miles and usually takes around 16 minutes. From Route 20, Landham Road leads south through Saxonville to Speen Street, Route 9 east and Route 27 into Natick Center. It is a straightforward run for anyone who wants a dentist Sudbury, MA families can reach without paying a toll.
Can Sudbury teens get Invisalign at your office?
Yes, Dr. Cheng provides Invisalign clear aligners for teens as well as adults. A digital iTero scan replaces impression trays, and the removable aligners come out for meals, games and team photos. Teens can keep up with sports and clubs while their teeth gradually straighten, with brief check-ins along the way.
Can Sudbury patients have a loose or chipped implant crown repaired?
Yes, implant repair and restoration are part of Dr. Cheng's implant care. A loose or chipped implant crown, or a worn part, can often be fixed or replaced without starting over. He checks the implant and the surrounding bone with X-rays or Cone Beam 3D imaging, then explains what needs attention and what the repair involves.
At what age can Sudbury children start seeing Dr. Cheng?
Children can start seeing Dr. Cheng as early as infancy, since our pediatric care covers kids from their first teeth through the teen years. An early visit helps a toddler get used to the chair. By the time they reach Haynes, Loring, Nixon or Noyes, checkups feel routine rather than new.
Can a parent and a teenager go through Invisalign at the same time?
Yes, Invisalign® is offered to both teens and adults, and each person gets a separate plan built from their own iTero® scan. Coordinating check-in visits for the same afternoon saves an extra drive. New patients can also start with a free Invisalign® consultation (*this offer is for new patients only) before committing to anything.
