Dentist Millis, MA

Convenient Access from Millis

Millis sits along the Charles River roughly 18 minutes south of SOAP Dental, our general practice in Natick Center. Anyone comparing options for a dentist Millis, MA retirees and working parents can both use tends to ask two things: how far, and how much can be done under one roof. Dr. Bob Cheng handles checkups, fillings, crowns, root canals, gum care and implants in a single office, so the answer to the second question is most of it.

From the Millis Public Library at 961 Main Street, follow Main Street (Route 109) to Exchange Street and turn north on Route 115. The road passes the Clicquot neighborhood, named for the ginger ale company that once operated in town, then continues as Orchard Street and Bullard Street into Sherborn. At Route 27, head north on South Main Street through Sherborn into Natick, and turn onto Middlesex Ave to reach 7A Middlesex Ave, Natick, MA 01760, a few steps from the Natick Center train station. Expect about 9.3 miles in all; pull up our office on Google Maps for directions, and see the pages for Medfield and Holliston if you live near those town lines.

Why Millis Residents Head North on Route 115

Millis has no public rail or bus service of its own, so nearly every errand starts behind the wheel. That makes a direct, two-route drive with no tolls worth a lot. Route 115 and Route 27 carry you from Main Street to our door without a single highway ramp.

This Norfolk County town has changed shape over the past century. It was once an industrial place, where Clicquot Club made its ginger ale for about 80 years, and today it is mainly suburban, with rural stretches on the outskirts. Much of the land is protected conservation area, and Bogastow Brook and South End Pond both lie within its borders.

History runs deep here. Richardson's Tavern, built around 1720, hosted George Washington in 1775, and Prospect Hill Cemetery, listed on the National Register, holds the grave of Governor Christian Herter. Families who have lived in town for generations often want the same thing from a dentist that they want from a neighbor: steady, familiar care over many years.

Our weekday schedule runs 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday, with Saturday mornings from 8:00AM to 1:00PM by appointment only. A mid-morning weekday visit suits many retirees, while working parents may prefer the Saturday window. Either way, the office is closed Sunday.

Keeping Your Own Teeth Strong Through Every Decade

The library's recent community profile shows that older residents are the fastest-growing group in Millis. That shift changes what local families need from a dental office. Fillings placed decades ago wear out, crowns reach the end of their life, gums recede, and a missing tooth starts to affect how you chew.

Catching those changes early is the whole point of a regular checkup. A worn filling replaced in time avoids a cracked tooth, and a cracked tooth treated in time can often avoid an extraction. Dr. Cheng also performs an oral cancer screening during routine visits, a quick check that matters more with each passing year.

Planning implant work takes more than a flat x-ray. Our office uses Cone Beam 3D imaging, which gives a 360-degree view of the teeth, roots and surrounding bone, so Dr. Cheng can see exactly where an implant can go before any treatment begins. Whether an implant fits your situation depends on that exam and the health of the bone.

Everyday habits matter too. Many medications taken later in life can leave the mouth dry, and less saliva means teeth lose a natural defense against decay. Regular cleanings, a careful look at older restorations and a conversation about your medication list help Dr. Cheng spot that risk before it turns into new cavities.

Adult children often handle the driving for a parent's dental care. If that describes your family, booking your own cleaning for the same morning saves a second trip up Route 27, and our team can line the two appointments up back to back.

Younger households in town are not left out. Children, teens and adults all see the same dentist here, so grandparents, parents and kids can keep their records in one place and coordinate visits on the same morning.

Dentist Millis, MA Treatments Focused on Saving Natural Teeth

  • Restorative Dentistry

Tooth-colored fillings, inlays and onlays, crowns and bridges rebuild teeth that have worn down over the years. Dentures and partials are available too, and full mouth reconstruction brings several repairs together into one coordinated plan.

  • Dental Implants

An implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up, which helps you chew with confidence again. Dr. Cheng explains the process, recovery and implant types, and he also handles implant repair and restoration.

  • Periodontics

Gum disease often progresses quietly, which makes regular screening important for adults in their later decades. Prevention, diagnosis and treatment, including scaling and root planing, are part of our periodontal care.

  • Root Canal Therapy

An infected tooth does not always have to come out. Gentle root canal treatment removes the infection and keeps your natural tooth, and a crown afterward usually protects it for the long run.

  • General Dentistry

Checkups, cleanings and exams are the foundation of care for every generation. Nightguards protect teeth from grinding, and custom sports mouthguards cover the younger athletes in the family.

Each of these treatments starts with a clear picture. Digital x-rays deliver immediate images with reduced radiation, and an intraoral camera puts a real-time photo of the problem tooth on the screen in front of you. The technology at our office also includes an iTeroยฎ scanner, which replaces messy impression trays with a digital 3D scan when you need a crown or an implant restoration.

Meet Your Natick Dentist

After dental school at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Bob Cheng completed a general practice residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He then began practicing in the Boston area, treating a diverse range of patients with very different needs. That background shows in how he plans complex restorative work one step at a time.

Insurance & Financing

Visa, MasterCard and Discover are all accepted at the front desk. Payment is due at the time of service unless you arrange something in advance, and our team is glad to talk through payment options before treatment starts. Cherry Financing is available for larger plans such as implants or crowns.

LOOK NO FURTHER & book an appointment! I have neglected my teeth for too long but feel absolutely refreshed and hopeful after my visit to Soap Dental. Super clean, easy to find, lots of parking, and extremely relaxed environment. There was never a moment I didnโ€™t feel at ease as to what was going on and was checked in with multiple times to make sure I was comfortable. We spent some time talking about my goals and how we can get there, hallelujah! Iโ€™m actually looking forward to going back next week to get some fillings & sealant applied ๐Ÿคฏ. This is such a great establishment, and if youโ€™re like me and need an all-in-one dental facility I cannot recommend this one enough. Your mouth is in great hands. ๐Ÿฉต

Very lovely place. I got my teeth whitened here and from the moment I walked in for my appointment, I was greeted and taken care off. Front desk staff / assistant was super attentive. The office is lovely, once I walked into my room they greeted me with a large TV and my name on it and made me feel comfortable during my teeth whitening session. The doctor is very kind and makes sure you're comfortable during your visit. Frequent check ups during the appointment from the staff / doctor. Would recommend anyone to come here for all your teeth needs!!

If your in need of a dentist, look no further. I have not been to a dentist since the dark ages and was fairly anxious. Dr Cheng was kind and patient and listened to my sad story with compassion and helpful suggestions regarding my treatment. Minus the guilt trip. He will work with you throughout the process and you might just feel a little better. Mouthwize anyway. Try not to watch Marathon Man before you go.

I have had wonderful dental care at SOAP with Dr. Cheng. Dr Cheng is a gentle and excellent dentist explaining every detail of my dental plan. The office is lovely and the practice uses the most current dental equipment for deep and thorough care. I am so impressed by the intraoral camera exam, digital x rays, and sophisticated lab testing called OralDNA Labs to help guide treatment.

The facility itself is also highly accessible, which is an amazing bonus for those of us who are disabled or have loved ones that are. I highly recommend coming here.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is SOAP Dental from Millis, and how do I get there?

Plan on about 18 minutes for the 9.3-mile drive from Millis. Take Route 115 north from Main Street along Exchange, Orchard and Bullard Streets into Sherborn, then follow Route 27 north into Natick. With no buses in town, a short, toll-free route like this one matters when you pick a dentist Millis, MA households can reach easily.

Is there a bus or train from Millis to the Natick office?

No, Millis has no public rail or bus service of its own. The closest commuter rail stops sit in Norfolk, Walpole, Franklin and Needham, and those lines do not run to Natick Center. Driving is the practical choice, and the trip up Route 115 and Route 27 avoids highways and tolls entirely.

Can Millis patients get treatment for gum disease at the office?

Yes, Dr. Cheng diagnoses and treats gum disease. Depending on what the exam shows, care may include a thorough cleaning, scaling and root planing to clear deposits below the gumline, or crown lengthening when a tooth needs more exposed surface. Regular checkups afterward help keep the gums healthy and stable.

Can older Millis residents get dentures or partials at your office?

Yes, dentures and partials are part of our restorative care, along with crowns, bridges and full mouth reconstruction. Dr. Cheng reviews what you wear now, checks the fit and talks through whether a new appliance or an implant makes more sense. He explains each option plainly so you can decide at your own pace.

How can I spread out the cost of an implant or a crown?

Two financing programs can help: Cherry Financing and CareCredit. Both let you split a larger bill into smaller payments, subject to approval. Our team also completes and submits your insurance claims and aims to estimate your share before the appointment, so the numbers are clear before you commit to treatment.
